Turning Training into Job-Readiness
Strategies to Help Learners Secure Their First Skilled Trades Job
Tuesday, April 29th | 1:00PM CST / 2:00P EST
In This Webinar:
Join workforce development expert Lauren Holubec and trades training leader Dan Clapper for an exclusive fireside on bridging the gap between training and launching your learners into successful careers – whether as HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, or in other high-demand skilled trades.
You’ll leave with:
- Strategies to identify and address both technical and foundational skill gaps to prepare learners for entry-level roles.
- Tactics to build relationships with local employers to provide hands-on experience, mentorship, and hiring pathways.
- Insights into the durable skills required for learners to be successful in the skilled trades.
A DEWALT survey reveals that 68% of skilled trades students are committed to their careers, but many struggle to secure full-time jobs. Over half face waitlists for training, while many rely on internships or mentorship for experience. These hurdles aren’t just limited to students—any new trades professional can face these roadblocks. While technical skills are essential, employers also look for job readiness—professionalism, communication, and hands-on experience. Without them, even well-trained candidates can face barriers to employment.
Tune in as experts share practical strategies to ensure learners are job-ready, from closing skill gaps to building employer partnerships and teaching essential workplace skills.
